Description
This kit is used for the quantitative detection of Serum Amyloid A (SAA) concentration in human serum/plasma or whole blood samples.
Serum amyloid A (SAA) is polymorphic protein family encoded by multiple genes, which is involved in many physiological and pathological processes such as inflammatory response, lipid metabolism and atherosclerosis. SAA is a sensitive inflammatory marker in the acute stage. When the body is stimulated by infection, inflammation, trauma and tumor, liver cells secrete SAA in large quantities, and the level of SAA in serum reaching more than 1000 times the normal level in 6-8 hours as the body’s inflammatory response develops.In addition, SAA has a short half-life, and when the body’s inflammatory response is controlled, SAA rapidly drops to the normal level, which makes SAA a sensitive indicator of the body’s inflammatory state such as infection or trauma.
This product should be used together with the fluorescence lateral flow immunoassay analyzer produced by Prometheus Bio Inc. It can be used in medical and health institutions.
