Description
This kit is used for in vitro quantitative determination of N-terminal b-type natriuretic peptide precursor (NT-proBNP) content in human serum /plasma and whole blood samples.
NT-proBNP is a non-bioactive linear peptide fragment produced by cardiac muscle cells in the process of synthesizing peptide hormone b-type natriuretic peptide (BNP). It is composed of 76 amino acids and its relative molecular mass is about 8.5KD. In the peripheral blood of healthy people, the content of NT-proBNP is very low, generally less than 450pg/ml. When ventricular pressure changes and wall tension increases due to volume load, ventricular myocytes will synthesize and secrete BNP and nt-probnp, so the increase of NT-proBNP concentration can well reflect the changes of ventricular structure and function. At present, NT-proBNP has been recognized as a sensitive and specific indicator of cardiac dysfunction and an objective marker for the diagnosis of heart failure.
This product should be used together with the fluorescence lateral flow immunoassay analyzer produced by Prometheus Bio Inc. It can be used in medical and healthcare institutions.
